Talleres – Platense
Talleres wasted a big chance of becoming the only league leaders in round ten, when they drew 0-0 away at Patronato, who ended the game with nine men. However, Alexander Medina’s men are unbeaten in their last seven matches in the Liga Profesional, having won five and drawn two. As a result, they are sharing the top of the league table with Lanus on 20 points and also are occupying one of the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the 2021 aggregate rankings. The team are without defeat in their last eight domestic matches at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, with five victories and three draws in that time.
Platense put up a good fight against San Lorenzo at home last time out and it was enough to secure a 1-1 draw. Therefore, Leonardo Madelon’s men succumbed to a single defeat in their last five league matches, winning two and drawing two to make it ten points. That places the newly-promoted side in the 21st spot of the relegation table. El Calamar took five points in as many matches on away turf in this tournament, having won one, drawn two and lost two.
Talleres needs to win to stay at the top of the table and I can’t imagine that they won’t do it at home against Platense.

Central Cordoba – Atletico Tucuman
With Sebastian Scolari as interim boss, CA Central Cordoba managed a valuable point on their visit to Defensa y Justicia in round ten, when they drew 1-1 as Abel Arganaraz found the equaliser in the 89th minute. However, the team are going through difficult times: El Ferroviario have been winless in their last seven games (four stalemates and three defeats) to accumulate only eight points in the Liga Profesional so far. Furthermore, the team grabbed a single point across their last three home matches. CA Central Cordoba will oversee the debut of coach Sergio Rondina after Gustavo Coleoni’s departure.
Atletico Tucuman were held to a scoreless draw by Sarandi Arsenal at home in an intense game in round ten. Even though it was bad news considering they couldn’t approach the continental spots, El Decano are improving in general terms: they have been unbeaten in their last three league matches, managing seven points from nine on offer to accumulate 15 points in total. On away turf, Omar De Felippe’s men grabbed six of those points, having registered two victories and three defeats on the road.
Both average more than one goal conceded in the 10 rounds played and I expect this to continue in an open game that anyone can win.
