I am betting the goals in this game, i firmly believe this is a match where both sides will score, last season Besiktas games in the Turkish super lig averaged 3.33, 28 of their 40 games had at least 3 goals in them, the face Dortmund whose games in the Bundesliga last season averaged 3.56 goals went 25 of their 34 games having at least 3 goals in them. The team news is conducive to goals as well with Besiktas missing their Croatian central defender Domagoj Vida while they have also signed Pjanic and Batshuayi who should be able to help in the scoring department. Overall I think Over 3 goals is a value bet given all things.

Sheriff Tiraspol v Shakhtar Donetsk
I am betting Shakhtar here, they are on a different level to Sheriff who are making their debut in the champions’ league group stages. In the playoffs Sheriff faced Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia and whilst they were won well it was interesting that Dinamo Zagreb started -0.5 favs in Moldova, Shakhtar are levels above Dinamo Zagreb and through that playoff game I believe Shakhtar are a value bet against the champions league debutants, they are a side who are a side who are used to going deep into European competitions and should have too much for such a small and inexperienced club as this level. At the time of writing this Shakhtar are currently priced at -0.5 @ 1.83 so I make Shakhtar a lot of value.

Atletico Madrid v FC Porto
I think Porto offer a lot of value tonight, I thought they were impressive last season in the champions league, they give the eventual winners Chelsea a very good game only going down 2-1 on aggregate in the end at the quarter final stage, they also give City 2 good games drawing 0-0 at home and losing only 3-1 to them away with the game level in Manchester at with only 25 minutes left. Atletico don’t tend to win games by a few goals, they are a tough side who grind out wins and Griezmann and Suarez up front are 2 tricky opponents for any team but I think Porto are under estimated and are worth a bet here +0.75. I am also betting the under 2.25 goals, I think Porto are a good underdog they are well organised and well drilled and i believe it brings the under 2.25 goals in as a bet too.

Liverpool v AC Milan
I am betting Liverpool here -1.25, they showed at the weekend v Leeds united how good a side they are, their first 11 is very strong but maybe don’t have the squad to try and win the premier league so it could be argued that the Champions league offers them their best chance of silverware this season, so they will want a positive start to this campaign. AC Milan are not the side of old but they are improving but away at Anfield without star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic against one of the best team’s in Europe maybe too big of an ask, so betting Liverpool to get off to a good start -1.25.

Sporting Lisbon v Ajax
I am betting Sporing +0.25 and under 2.5 goals, Sporting are a solid side built on 5 man midfield who offer huge defensive protection, they kept 20 clean sheets in the Portuguese top flight last season and have been able to hold on to the vast bulk of their talent, they face a Ajax side who were poor last season in the champions league, they took only 1 point from Liverpool and Atalanta and whose star man Tadic is an aging 32 year old. I don’t think Ajax should be favourites and i believe they’re favourites on the back of the news that Sporting’s captain Coates is out injured while top scorer Goncalves is a major doubt but with the odds on Sporting drifting from 1.74 +0.25 i believe the team news is factored into the odds. I am betting Sporting +0.25 and I can see them keeping it tight and i believe that brings in the under 2.5 goals too as bets.

Manchester City v RB Leipzig
I am betting Leipzig here, I think the market under estimates them, last season they travelled to Liverpool and were only +0.25 underdogs, yes City are a better team than Liverpool but they are not 1.25 goals better, not even close. It is fair to say Leipzig are a poorer side than last season after losing their coach from last season to Bayern Munich and their star defender too but they are no more than 0.25 of a goal worse off and I believe +1.5 they are receiving from City tonight is value and should be backed.
