Southampton v Newcastle Utd

I am betting Southampton here, without doubt Newcastle Utd are one of the form teams in the league but so are Southampton despite being beaten 4-0 at the weekend away to Villa, Southampton were missing key defender Mohammed Salisu but he is expected to be back tomorrow night and that will be a major boost. Southampton seem to be a team that every now and again everything goes wrong in a match but they have shown they have the ability to bounce back and I expect to see that tomorrow night against a Newcastle side who have a feel of being a little overrated at present due to the good run they’re currently on but they have played teams in the lower half of the table, with victories v Aston Villa, Brighton, Brentford, Everton and Leeds. Brighton probably deserved a draw on Saturday and on this run the magpies have probably had lady luck on their side more than once but they have improved for sure. I think Southampton is a step up for them and the Saints for me are value to end Newcastle’s good run of form.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Watford

I am betting Wolves here -0.5, Watford will be without Ismaila Sarr who is a massive loss to the hornets going into this match, Wolves will be wanting to bounce back and this is a great opportunity for them. Watford played Arsenal on Sunday and they looked very open which was a surprise given Roy Hodgson in their coach, they were beaten 3-2 but at 3-1 Arsenal were content to sit on their lead, I thought the 1 goal deficit flattered them slightly and with 3 of their next 4 being away from home they may need to try and play more than they usually would on the front foot and that could be their undoing here against a Wolves side who love to play counter attacking football.

Leeds Utd v Aston Villa

I am betting Villa on the draw no bet line, Villa were excellent at the weekend at home to the Saints, and they will fancy their chances against a Leeds side who while were better away to Leicester have still lost 6 out of their last 7 matches. They’re on a terrible run of form and are still without Kalvin Phillips and i found it interesting that even though they needed a goal against Leicester City in their 1-0 defeat on Saturday, they never put star striker Patrick Bamford on the pitch even though he was a substitute on the day, it tells me Bamford is not fit and unlikely to be used from the start tomorrow. I have upgraded Leeds on the back of that performance but I still have value on Villa and believe they should be backed for this match given the Leeds team news and their current run of form.

Aston Villa 0 min odds 1.89
