Argentine Primera División — Quick Tips

Tips at a glance

  • Banfield — DNB @ 2.09
  • Vélez vs Rosario Central — OVER 1.75 @ 1.83

Banfield vs Racing — Recommendation

Bet: Banfield DNB @ 2.09

Form and context: Banfield have been inconsistent lately. Their 1-0 defeat away to Huracán extended a winless run in the league to three matches (one draw, two defeats). They remain on 14 points in the Torneo Clausura and are not completely safe from relegation, sitting seven points clear of the drop zone. At home, however, Banfield have been better — collecting seven of the last nine points available on their own turf.

Racing are rotating. With rotation introduced by coach Gustavo Costas, Racing produced a lacklustre 0-0 draw at home against Independiente Rivadavia. They remain unbeaten in four league matches (two wins, two draws) but are short of the playoff positions in Group A and are also behind in the aggregate table for international qualification. Racing have taken seven of a possible 12 points away so far in the Torneo Clausura. Notably, Juan Nardoni remains sidelined.

Why the DNB? The key factor here is expected rotation from Racing. Reports suggest top players — including top scorer Adrián Martínez, midfielder Nardoni and goalkeeper Cambeses — could be rested, which reduces Racing’s typical attacking and defensive stability. Banfield, despite inconsistency, perform better at home and should be able to avoid defeat if Racing field a weakened side. The Draw No Bet (DNB) removes the draw risk and gives a safety net if the match finishes level.

Vélez vs Rosario Central — Recommendation

Bet: OVER 1.75 @ 1.83

Form and context: Vélez earned a late point in their visit to Deportivo Riestra thanks to an own goal by Mateo Ramírez, finishing 2-2. They are unbeaten in seven Torneo Clausura matches (five wins, two draws) and sit high in Group B. Vélez have been strong at home recently, unbeaten in six home league games (five wins, one draw). They will be missing Claudio Baeza due to suspension, while Agustín Bouzat is available again.

Rosario Central continue to impress. They came from behind to beat River Plate 2-1 last weekend and remain unbeaten in the Torneo Clausura with 18 points (four wins, six draws). Central lead the overall standings and are unbeaten away in seven matches (three wins, four draws).

Why expect goals? These are two of the better teams in the league — both in good scoring form and both with recent runs of unbeaten results. Vélez at home and Rosario Central away have shown they can both find the net. Given both teams’ attacking tendencies and recent scorelines, the totals line looks low. Taking OVER 1.75 captures matches where either side gets off to a scoring start and still provides a partial return if only two goals are scored.

Short Notes

  • Banfield benefit from home form and expected rotation from Racing — DNB is the preferred conservative option.
  • Vélez and Rosario Central both score regularly; OVER 1.75 is the play for a higher-probability goal outcome.
