Tigre vs Central Cordoba
Tigre registered a 1-1 away draw at Godoy Cruz on their return to the top flight last Friday, when they conceded the equaliser in stoppage time. However, the point allowed them to leave the relegation zone in their debut and also extend their unbeaten streak to eight competitive matches, having won five and drawn three in that spell. At home, El Matador also are on eight games without defeat, with five successes and three stalemates since they lost to San Martin Tucuman 1-0 in July.
CA Central Cordoba opened up the season in perfect style last Thursday, when they beat newcomers Barracas Central 3-1 at home, with attacking midfielder Alejandro Martinez in superb form. El Ferroviario made it three victories in the last four league games (along with a single defeat) to level Atletico Tucuman in the relegation table, 12 points above the drop zone.
Central Cordoba scored 3 but also conceded and playing away they are not good at all, so I expect an open game here where anything can happen.

Aldosivi vs Boca
After finishing last term with two consecutive victories, Aldosivi had a sorry 2022 season opener and succumbed to a 2-0 away defeat at Velez Sarsfield, having conceded twice in the second half. Following that defeat, the team remain occupying the 23rd spot of the relegation table, six points above the drop zone. On a positive note, El Tiburon have been strong at home under coach Martin Palermo, having managed four successes in five games (but their only defeat was to Boca Juniors 3-0).
Boca Juniors had to settle for a devastating 1-1 home draw against Colon last Sunday, when they conceded the equaliser just four minutes before the final whistle. As a result, Sebastian Battaglia’s men lost only one of their last seven league matches, having managed three victories and three draws in that span. On the road, El Xeneize won one of their last four domestic games, drawing one and losing two, but that victory was at Aldosivi 3-0 in November.
Can’t imagine Boca making the same mistake as last weekend and missing so many chances, while Aldosivi will have their top scorer Cauteruccio again, so I expect goals here.

River vs Patronato
River Plate showed a poor version on their debut after lifting the league title last year and they succumbed to an unexpected 1-0 away defeat at Union Santa Fe. That result extended their winless run to four league matches (two draws and two losses in that spell). At home, Marcelo Gallardo’s men lost their last domestic game to Defensa y Justicia after 11 league matches without defeat at Estadio Monumental (nine victories and two stalemates).
Patronato fans should have felt gutted after the team’s 1-0 home defeat to Argentinos Juniors after conceding in stoppage time. Following this defeat, Ivan Delfino’s men dropped down to the relegation zone after five league games without a win (two draws and three losses) and without even scoring. Furthermore, Patronato haven’t claimed any victories in their last 12 away matches, having drawn five and lost seven since beating Aldosivi 2-0 in July.
River lost in the first round and I can’t imagine them failing again, especially against this very poor Patronato.
