### **Deportivo Riestra – Lanus**

Deportivo Riestra continue showing their home strength. Last Monday, the team secured a massive 1-0 victory over CA Central Cordoba at Estadio Guillermo Laza thanks to a strike from Jonathan Herrera in the first half. El Guapo made it two victories across their last three league matches to accumulate 12 points in the Liga Profesional table, opening a three-point gap over bottom-placed Independiente Rivadavia in the point-average table. In fact, Riestra won their last three at their own stadium without even conceding.

Lanus returned to winning ways last Sunday, securing a massive 3-2 home victory over Tigre with Walter Bou netting the winner in the 90th minute of a thrilling clash. As a result, El Granate made it four wins and three draws across their last eight Liga Profesional matches (along with a single defeat) to accumulate 15 points in this competition, which allows them to hold onto one of the Copa Sudamericana berths in the aggregate table. On a sorry note, Ricardo Zielinski’s men have been winless in their last five away matches in domestic action, drawing three and losing two. Raul Loaiza and Ramiro Carrera are affected by different injuries and will miss out.

Riestra didn’t concede in the last 3 at home but Lanus is a different story: they have one of the best attacks in the league right now with 14 goals scored, only 2nd best to River’s 17. This totals line looks too low for me so I’ll go for the OVER because two goals are definitely possible.

### **Barracas Central – Talleres**

Barracas Central showed a very improved version and took a valuable point on their visit to Boca Juniors last Sunday, drawing 1-1 away after taking the first lead. Even though that result is good news, El Guapo also made it eight Liga Profesional matches without a win, drawing three and losing five in that time. Alejandro Orfila’s men accumulated six points in nine rounds so far, which keeps them out of the continental spots in the aggregate table. In fact, Barracas managed a single point from the last 12 on offer as the hosting side.

Talleres are still finding trouble after the Copa America break. Last Saturday, the team had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Instituto in a heated city derby. As a result, La T are on four league matches without a win, drawing three and losing one in that spell. Following that streak, Walter Ribonetto’s men have been displaced from the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the aggregate table even though they accumulated 16 points in nine Liga Profesional rounds. Talleres lost only one of their last nine away games in domestic action, along with three victories and five stalemates.

Barracas has been just awful lately, especially at home where they just can’t stop losing, and they will have to play against this Talleres that has been irregular lately but despite a couple of missings like playmaker Ruben Botta, should have more than enough to win here.

### **Racing – Gimnasia**

Racing Club showed a poor version last Saturday and were lucky to secure a scoreless away stalemate at leaders Huracan thanks to a superb performance from goalkeeper Gabriel Arias. La Academia made it 17 points in the Liga Profesional, trailing the table toppers by two and remain occupying one of the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the aggregate table after losing only one of their last four league games (winning two and drawing one in that time). At home, Racing have been unbeaten in their last six domestic matches, with five victories and one draw. Midfielder Juan Nardoni will miss out on Friday due to an ankle problem.

Gimnasia LP are going through a difficult moment. Last Monday, the team ended up losing 1-0 to Rosario Central at home after producing a terrible performance. Marcelo Mendez’s men made it four Liga Profesional defeats in a row, which keeps them on ten points after nine matchdays and dropped them down to the 20th spot of the aggregate table. Furthermore, El Lobo have been without a win in their last nine on away turf, drawing one and losing eight.

Racing will use a mixed lineup because they have to play a Copa Sudamericana match in Chile next Tuesday. Gimnasia has been terrible lately and they will prioritize not to lose, so I expect them to be able to keep it close because even though they lost 4 in a row, 3 of them were only 0-1 so I’ll go for the UNDER.
