August 17th 2021 – Copa Libertadores Asian Handicap Tip

Palmeiras (Brazil) – Sao Paulo (Brazil)

Palmeiras secured an important 1-1 away draw at Sao Paulo last Wednesday. That result means the Copa Libertadores’ defending champions will advance to the semi-finals in the event of keeping a clean sheet at home. On Saturday, the team were beaten by Atletico Mineiro 2-0 away, which prevented them from climbing into the top of the Brazilian league table: O Verdao remain second-placed on 32 points, five behind their last rivals. Palmeiras are winless in their last four games in all competitions, drawing two and losing two. They lost 3-2 to Fortaleza in their last home match to stop a seven-game unbeaten streak of one draw and six straight wins at Allianz Parque.

Sao Paulo couldn’t hold onto their lead and had to settle for a 1-1 home stalemate against Palmeiras in the first leg. Now they will need to score at least once to keep their hope alive. Last Saturday, Hernan Crespo’s men claimed a much-needed 2-1 home success over Gremio to make it 18 points in 16 games in the Brazilian league and open a three-point gap over the bottom four. Overall, Sao Paulo are on six matches without defeat, having won four and drawn two. On away turf, they lost only one of the last seven, along with four triumphs and two draws.

Palmeiras is the better team as shown on the 1st leg and I think at home where they are super strong they should win it.
