Manchester United vs Leeds United
I have to have a go at Leeds United +1, the word is that United players are still off-peak fitness, with Sancho and Pogba only having returned from to training and Rashford out injured, I think United may find this a very difficult match against Bielsa’s energetic charges. Leeds are the fittest team in the league by some distance and at this stage of the season that is a massive advantage and I think this may be a bet that while it may not win it may be a difficult one to get beat so betting the value on Leeds +1
Leeds +1 min odds 1.93
Everton vs Southampton
I am betting the under 2.25 goals here, I find it difficult to know where the goals will come from in this match, Everton will be without Richarlison and James Rodriguez who is their main creator and Southampton have sold Danny Ings to Aston Villa. This should play a tight match and originally, I wanted to bet Southampton +0.5 but the odds dropped this evening with the news that Everton could be without a number of players due to covid although most of them would not have started anyway but they probably would have featured from the bench. Everton saw 22 of their 38 matches feature 2 goals or less and this match last season saw a 1-0 score line and I believe we will see something similar tomorrow so betting under 2.25 goals.
Under 2.25 Goals scored min odds 1.95
Watford vs Aston Villa
I am betting under 2.5 goals here, Watford are one of the lowest scorers ever to be promoted from the Championship and were known as their defence first approach. Villa showed last season they faded mainly to Jack Grealish being injured and it is a case with Grealish being sold they struggled to score goals. It will be interesting how they get on and it may take the new players some time to settle in and with a goal like 2.5 I think there is some value betting a defensively sound underdog at home, their games in the Championship last season saw only 2.02 goals on average and with some question marks over Villa going forward I think under 2.5 goal is worth a bet.
Under 2.5 Goals scored min odds 1.83
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
I am betting Chelsea -1.5 goals here they will want to get their season off to a good start and their forwards will want start the season with a bang with the return of Lukaku to Stamford bridge. They were in midweek action beating Villarreal on penalties but that 120 minutes should stand to them today v Palace. Palace may improve this season but I would have question marks over the manager Patrick Viera who really did not set the world alight with hi last job in European football with Nice in France. I make Chelsea value but Palace are without Eze and Michael Olise has picked up a back injury and both those are negatives for Palace, I think Chelsea with their mean defence and forward who will be very motivated are a bet -1.5.
Chelsea -1.5 min odds 1.93
Norwich City vs Liverpool
I am betting Norwich City here today even though they have what sounds like a small outbreak of covid in the camp, they could have to give debuts to a number of players but these players would have been pushing for starts regardless and they face a Liverpool side who are without key full back Andy Roberton and right full Trent Alexander-Arnold is only coming back from injury and Liverpool could be without centre back Virgil Van Dijk too and even if Van Dijk plays it would have to be seen if it is really that much of a positive as he is coming back from such a long injury and did not look the force of old in pre-season. Norwich finished ahead Brentford in the Championship last night and we saw what the Bees did to Arsenal tonight. Norwich did sell their best player Buendia to Aston Villa in the summer but they look like they have recruited well bringing in Rachica and Sargent from Werder Bremen Tzolis from Greek club PAOK. I think Norwich will be better equipped this season than the last time we saw them in the premier league and can at the very least run Liverpool close today, betting Norwich +1.5. I am also betting the under 3.25 goals, I think the line is too big considering Liverpool are missing attacking full back Robertson and Alexander Arnold is only coming back from injury, they rely on these players so much to attack and without one and question marks over the other it may be a big ask for them to put in a bold attacking display many may expect.
Norwich +1.5 min odds 1.92
Under 3.25 Goals scored min odds 1.80
The Norwich bet looks awful.
Told you about Norwich ?
