Aston Villa vs Bournemouth

I am being a little aggressive here but I am betting Bournemouth +0.5 when they travel to Aston Villa here. I can’t help but feel Villa are getting the rub of the green in matches. They’re 8th in the expected goals (xG) charts currently with an xG of 14.8, their opponents today have an xG of 15.98 but Villa have 6 more points. Villa have struggled after European matches; they were lucky to beat Wolves in a 3-1 win and then dropped points and were probably 2nd best against an injury-hit Manchester United who had also played away to FC Porto the previous Thursday night. Bournemouth impressed me last weekend versus Arsenal; at 11 v 11 I thought they were probably edging it, and I think +0.5 against a Villa side who have struggled after European games is more than fair, betting the Cherries +0.5.

Bournemouth +0.5 min odds 1.97

Brighton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

I am betting Wolves +1, they played well against Manchester City and considering how bad Brighton were last weekend when they were extremely fortunate to record a 1-0 win away to Newcastle, I think it is an ask for Brighton to cover such a big handicap like this. The Seagulls also have doubts over Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro is out injured at the moment, which could mean totally out-of-form Evan Fergusson could start again, and at this stage the young Irish man does not look up to being a striker at this level of football. I think +1 is a big handicap to cover and happy to bet Wolves +1.

Wolves +1 min odds 1.80

Brentford vs Ipswich Town

Brentford are a team that feels like we should be against them at the moment. They have only once this season registered a higher xG than their opponents in a match, and that came against Southampton at home who, for me, are probably the worst team in the league. Newly promoted Ipswich Town are showing signs of being naive at this level; they were 2nd best against Everton but they have taken away points against Brighton and Southampton this season, and I don’t mind betting on the +1 handicap here against a Brentford team who feel opposable.

Ipswich Town +1 min odds 1.82

Manchester City vs Southampton

I am betting over 3.75 goals scored in this game. I actually think Southampton can get on the score sheet here, but regardless, I think City potentially could cover the goal line by themselves. Southampton are far too open, conceding 18 goals in just 8 games and according to xG should have conceded more. The Saints can get on the scoresheet against City though, as City have been conceding and if they do, I believe this game’s over the 3.75 goal line if Southampton can score.

Over 3.75 Goals scored min odds 1.85

Everton vs Fulham

I am betting Everton here. They have been boosted by the return of key central defender Jarrad Branthwaite, whilst Fulham are without central defender Joachim Andersen and defensive midfielder Sasa Lukic. Everton have improved of late and they are currently 4 games unbeaten; the pressure has eased on them as a result and without Andersen, I would make them favourites ahead of today’s clash, betting Everton on the draw no bet line against a Fulham side who have won just 1 of their last 4 away matches.

Everton 0 min odds 1.98
