Patronato vs Racing Club
Patronato remain winless in their last eight league matches (having drawn four and lost four) following their scoreless stalemate away at Platense in an uneventful game last Saturday. As a result of this terrible run, the team are now sitting in the penultimate spot of the relegation table. Ivan Delfino’s men continue producing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, having accumulated 15 points so far. Nine of those points were grabbed at Estadio Presbitero Grella, where Patronato registered two successes, three draws and one defeat.
Racing Club are now out of the continental spots in the 2021 aggregate table following their 1-1 home draw against Estudiantes last Sunday, which extended their winless streak to seven matches in league action (five stalemates and two defeats). Following that terrible run, La Academia are performing a poor campaign considering their fans’ expectations: they managed 19 points in 14 rounds. On away turf, Claudio Ubeda’s men haven’t won any of the last three (registering two draws and one loss in that spell).
Patronato has been decent at home, Racing has been terrible lately and they won’t have their goalkeeper who has saved them more than a few times this season, so I’m going with the hosts to get a very needed win.

Banfield vs River Plate
Banfield put up a good fight at defending champions Colon last time out and secured a scoreless away draw. However, the team continue to struggle in the Liga Profesional: having won only one of their last 11 league matches (along with six draws and four defeats), El Taladro accumulated only 14 points in as many matches, which represents a poor campaign for them.
Thanks to a brace from Julian Alvarez, River Plate managed a highly-celebrated success in the Superclasico, beating Boca Juniors 2-1 at home last Sunday. That victory extended their unbeaten streak to nine matches in the league (seven wins and two draws): as a result, El Millonario leapfrogged Talleres and are now league leaders on 30 points. On away turf, River are on four league games without defeat, having won three and drawn one in that stretch. Coach Marcelo Gallardo will miss Julian Alvarez, Franco Armani, Paulo Diaz, Robert Rojas and Nicolas De la Cruz, all involved in the World Cup Qualifiers. Furthermore, Braian Romero is out injured, as well as Matias Suarez, Enzo Perez, Hector Martinez and Jonatan Maidana.
Banfield is of course not a reliable team, but River will miss almost every important player they have due to international duty or injuries so I have to go with the hosts to get at least a draw.

Boca vs Lanus
Boca Juniors couldn’t handle River Plate’s offensive power and ended up losing 2-1 away in the Superclasico last Sunday. It was their first defeat under interim coach Sebastian Battaglia after five victories and two draws in league action. Following that heartbreaking slump, El Xeneize remain on 21 points and wasted a big opportunity of approaching the Copa Libertadores’ places in the 2021 aggregate table. At home, Boca are unbeaten in the last five league games, having won two and drawn three. Centre back Marcos Rojo is suspended for Sunday after seeing a red card at River Plate. Luis Advincula is involved in the World Cup Qualifiers with Peru’s national squad, as well as Carlos Zambrano, who could have replaced Rojo
Lanus put an end to their two-game losing streak last time out, when they reversed the score through goals from Jose Lopez and Ignacio Malcorra to beat CA Central Cordoba 2-1 at home. Thanks to that success, El Granate are now on 26 points, occupying third spot in the Liga Profesional, four points behind leaders River Plate, and they also continue fighting to climb into one of the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the aggregate table. Luis Zubeldia’s men have been decent on the road so far, registering four victories and two defeats in this competition.
Boca comes from losing the Superclasico at River, they will have important defensive missings, so Lanus should get something from this game.
