  • Nottingham Forest vs BrightonNottingham Forest (win) (min odds 1.95)

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Tip: Manchester United +0.25 & Under 2.75 goals

Minimum odds: Manchester United +0.25 — 1.89; Under 2.75 goals — 1.85

Crystal Palace traveled to France on Thursday and fielded a fairly strong side. Key players were used and there were injury concerns (Will Hughes went off injured, and Adam Wharton was introduced early), so fatigue and a shortened bench look likely for Palace. This is an early kick-off and that tends to blunt intensity when one side is stretched.

Manchester United are also light on personnel and still recovering from a poor display against Everton. Given Palace’s potential tiredness and United’s need to react, this has the feel of a low-chance game where one goal could decide it — or it could end level. Playing United +0.25 protects a small stake on a draw, while the Under 2.75 goals trade reflects an expectation of few clear opportunities.

Nottingham Forest vs Brighton

Tip: Nottingham Forest to win

Minimum odds: Nottingham Forest — 1.95

Forest took a pragmatic approach midweek and rested several players in the Europa League with this fixture in mind. That squad management should leave them fresher than Brighton, who arrive inconsistent and not at their best. Brighton were fortunate in recent results and can be vulnerable on their day.

Forest also historically gave Brighton a difficult game last season, and with fresh legs and home advantage this looks like a sensible selection. Back Forest to get the three points at the quoted prices.

West Ham United vs Liverpool

Tip: West Ham +1 (Asian Handicap)

Minimum odds: West Ham +1 — 1.88

Liverpool have been a shadow of last season’s title-winning side and arrive on the back of heavy defeats (including recent home losses). Form is poor: defensive frailties and low confidence make them vulnerable on the road. Despite being installed as favourites, Liverpool have lost many of their recent matches.

West Ham have improved under new management and at home the +1 line gives a safety net against a narrow Liverpool win while still providing value if the Hammers can grind a draw or win. This handicap is the preferred way to back the home side given Liverpool’s instability.
