Motherwell vs Aberdeen
I am betting Aberdeen here -0.25, I was impressed with them midweek against a high-flying Celtic team, losing only by a goal in a 5-goal thriller. Motherwell were beaten against a poor Dundee United and Motherwell seem very much a hit and miss team, I don’t believe their league position reflects the quality of the team and I believe they are probably a bottom half team. Aberdeen will also have midfielder Adam Montgomery who is on loan from Celtic back in their after he could not play against his parent club. I think Aberdeen are value to get the win and should be backed.

Hull City vs Fulham
I am betting Fulham -1 in the championship; Hull were improving but there are clear signs that may have stopped with the managerial change at the club that saw Grant McCann sacked and then saw Shota Arveladze come in to take charge of the tigers. Hull were hammered by Derby in midweek by a score of 3 goals to 1. I simply can’t see anything other than a Fulham win and hopefully it will be by a few goals too.

Manchester United vs Southampton
I am betting Southampton +1 today in the early kick off in the premier league, United have had some poor results of late namely dropping points midweek away to Burnley and losing in the cup to championship club Middlesbrough at home. Southampton come into this game in terrific form and were superb away to Spurs midweek winning 3-2 in a brilliant game of football they will have no fears about going to Old Trafford even though they took a thumping there last season, this United side are not playing well and while it may be difficult for them to play to that level for 2 away games in a row +1 at the current odds is more than fair.

Everton vs Leeds Utd
Where do we start with Everton, the premier league’s crisis club, there is not much going right, they are missing 5 starters and while Leeds is also missing players and key ones at that, they are only missing 2 players and their replacement performed very well away at Aston Villa on Wednesday night, they have got a number of players back fit recently. Everton were beaten 3-1 by Newcastle but in reality, they could have lost the game 4 or 5-1 given Newcastle’s dominance. I think this is a great bet and as well as betting Leeds I am also betting over 2.75 goals to be scored, the Everton defence are missing both starting centre backs as well as they have no left footed full back fit at the club, they can score as Leeds are a very open side themselves but I don’t think they will keep pace with Leeds scoring and I expect a high scoring Leeds win with both teams scoring.

Watford vs Brighton & Hove Albion
I am betting Watford here +0.5 and also under 2.25 goals, since Roy Hodgson came in 2 games ago Watford look a lot better defensively and they are also getting back 2 major players in Sarr and Dennis who is their top scorer this season. I thought Watford were very unlucky not to keep a clean sheet at West Ham in midweek with a deflected goal winning it for the hammers in a pretty even game, Brighton don’t win many games only winning 2 games in their last 20 matches and I think they can be opposed on the -0.5 against a team who are improving like Watford. They also don’t score or concede many goals with their game in the premier league only featuring 2.09 goals per match.

Huracan vs Lanus
Huracan closed up last year in good style, winning three and losing one of their last four games, which gave them the hope of fighting for a continental ticket that they eventually didn’t get. In fact, the team managed ten points from the last 12 on offer at home in the context of that improvement. Fernando Tobio (who arrives from Estudiantes) and Pablo Adorno (Cerro Porteno, Paraguay) are the most important signings for coach Frank Kudelka in a total of seven while Claudio Yacob left to join Rosario Central among ten departures.
Lanus produced a worthy campaign in 2021, but a six-game winless streak of three draws and three defeats left them out of the fight for a Copa Libertadores’ ticket (they will participate in the Copa Sudamericana instead). In fact, El Granate are now on three away losses in a row. Coach Luis Zubeldia waved goodbye and the board hired Jorge Almiron again to take over. Lanus had important signings during the offseason and they will have back the last coach that won a championship in the club, so I think they should start the season getting something out of this game.

Union vs River
Union Santa Fe closed up last year in the best possible way: they beat arch-rivals Colon 3-0 and secured a ticket to the Copa Sudamericana (thanks to a run of three wins and one defeat in the last four games). At home, El Tatengue are on two consecutive successes.
River Plate became Liga Profesional champions in the second semester of 2021 after seven years without a league title (and of course they qualified for the Copa Libertadores). However, after securing the crown they took a breather, registering two draws and one loss in three league games. On away turf, El Millonario are on ten matches unbeaten in the league (six wins, four stalemates). Coach Marcelo Gallardo has seven reinforcements at his disposal, including Juan Fernando Quintero (returns from Shenzhen, China) and Esequiel Barco (MLS side Atlanta Utd) while none of the usual starters waved goodbye.
If River is playing I have to expect goals, specially with their new offensive signings which should make them an even stronger attacking team.

Annan Athletic vs Rangers
Rangers will make changes ahead of this match today which was confirmed by Giovanni Van Bronckhorst in his press conference for this game away to Annan Athletic. Rangers have been busy of late and also face a match against Europa league Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night so they will certainly have one eye on that game. Annan play on a artificial pitch which should be a slight advantage to them and defensively for their division they are a sound team who are well organised and I don’t believe they will take a pasting so I am also betting under 3.75 goals as a bet.
