Argentine Primera Division — Tip Previews (April 20, 2026)
Quick tips
- San Lorenzo vs Velez — BET: OVER 1.75 @ 1.89
- Tigre vs Huracan — BET: Huracan +0.25 @ 1.99
- Gimnasia de Mendoza vs Lanus — BET: OVER 1.75 @ 1.81
San Lorenzo — Velez
San Lorenzo drew 0-0 at Newell’s last weekend. They have been inconsistent in the league — just one win in seven matches (five draws, one defeat) — and need points to push for a playoff position. At home they have been noticeably better, with three wins, one draw and a single loss across their last five league games. They also picked up a 2-0 Copa Sudamericana win over Deportivo Cuenca midweek, so confidence at home should be intact.
Velez returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Central Cordoba, snapping a short run of poor results. They sit near the top of Group A and have been solid away from home, with several wins and draws on their road record this season.
Because San Lorenzo will be pushed to take risks and Velez can hit on the break, this game has a good chance of producing at least a couple of goal-scoring moments. The market is offering a low totals line, and the combination of an urgent home side and an efficient Velez suggests backing the OVER.
BET: OVER 1.75 @ 1.89
Tigre — Huracan
Tigre were unable to convert superiority into goals in a 0-0 draw at Atletico Tucuman. Their form has slipped since a strong start: they are now eight matches without a win (five draws, three defeats) and have collected only three points from their last four home league games. Tigre also suffered a midweek Copa Sudamericana defeat at home and are without top scorer David Romero due to injury.
Huracan have been building momentum, coming from behind to beat Rosario Central 3-1 last weekend and extending an unbeaten league run to four games (two wins, two draws). Away form has also been respectable and the squad should be complete for this trip.
Given Tigre’s scoring problems and the absence of Romero, a draw or away positive result is realistic for Huracan. The Asian handicap line of +0.25 gives protection if Huracan draw while still offering good value if they win.
BET: Huracan +0.25 @ 1.99
Gimnasia de Mendoza — Lanus
Gimnasia de Mendoza have shown signs of improvement since Dario Franco’s arrival but remain fragile: just one win in nine league matches, though they have picked up four points from the last six under the new coach. They tend to concede regularly — eight of their last nine league games have seen them concede at least once — and they will be motivated to build momentum at home.
Lanus are flying after a late derby winner against Banfield, climbing into the top three of Group A. They have won four of their last six league matches and traveled well this season. Lanus will be missing experienced defender Carlos Izquierdoz through suspension, which could weaken their defensive organization.
With Gimnasia conceding often and Lanus still carrying attacking threat — plus the absence of Izquierdoz — this fixture looks primed for goals. The short totals line is attractive here.
BET: OVER 1.75 @ 1.81
