Weekend Footballby Ben, last updated 2005-09-09 01:15:28This weekends bets are: Man City +1.25 Charlton +0.25 Tottenham +0. Not had the time to write this weekends picks. My analysis of Man U / Man City is below but thats it. Also provided is the football bit of the newsletter I get sent by bet365. Nigels, picks have been doing alright. I'd take them as singles rather than the accumulator. Had Charlton because the are in form at the moment. They deserved to win 3-0 against Middlesbrough the other week. As for Birmingham, they held on for their 3-2 victory against West Brom. Also Middlesbrough beat Birmingham 3-0, Charlton beat Middlesbrough 3-0, so I think theres a good chance of Charlton getting something here. Liverpool are well over rated. I think Tottenham will beat them at home. Tottenham were matching Chelsea until they had a man sent off. Liverpool have managed a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 win so far. They might manage a draw but I can't see them beating Tottenham. Man Utd vs Man CityMan Utd (1.44) Draw (4.3) Man City (10)Both of the teams from Manchester have had an excellent start to the season. City are second with 10 points from 4 games, while United are 4th with 9 points from 3 games.United are strong favourites for this match. They have yet to concede a goal this season. I still think this is because the have played teams that aren’t going to score many this season. I wasn’t too impressed with them against Newcastle. Both goals they scored were from errors from Boumsong. On another day Newcastle could have held out for a 0-0 draw. I am also thinking of the fact that most of their team have been on international duty and maybe slightly tired. City are continuing where they left off last year. Under Stuart Pearce they are unbeaten in 12. Admittedly they haven’t played any of the top teams during that period but its still a good run. Cole and Vassell have been scoring in the absence of their veteran striker, Robbie Fowler, who should be back for this game. I’ve gone for City on the Asian Handicap of +1.25 at 1.88 at bet365. I think City can get a draw out of this. They managed a 0-0 last season. A home win is the most probable outcome but with the handicap I still win unless its by 2 or more goals. Nigels Picksby Nigel RidgewayTOFFEES A TASTY BET AT 8/11Premiership action returns this weekend, and some of the players from the top clubs may be feeling a bit jaded after making their contributions to international efforts around the world last weekend. This might be worth factoring in when compiling your Premiership accas, but there are no such worries for Charlton, who look a great bet at 15/8 to beat Birmingham at St Andrews. The Addicks are off to flyer again this season, including a spectacular 3-0 result at Boro last time out, and are unbeaten in four against Birmingham too. Combine them up with Everton at 8/11 to beat Porstmouth, who are already looking relegation candidates, having taken just a point from their opening four matches. With 15 international players in the side, the globetrotting Trotters will not have had an ideal preparation for their live home game against Blackburn on Sunday, so a narrow away win looks the best bet here (14 live in-play markets available). With both United and Chelsea looking home bankers, against City and Sunderland respectively, a £25 acca on all five selections this weekend pays out £322.63 for a £10stake - that includes a bet365 bonus of 10% (up to 60% on offer every weekend in the Premiership).
