There is a packed weekend of quality racing ahead, as Doncaster holds the Racing Post Trophy on Saturday, while over at in America the Breeders Cup spectacular visits Santa Anita in California for this year’s festival.
A large field will assemble at Doncaster on Saturday for the Racing Post Trophy at 3:35pm, with Jukebox Jury and Masterofthehorse currently heading the betting at 3/1 each at VCbet and BGbet respectively. Jockey Jimmy Fortune won this race 10 years ago onboard Commander Collins, he could go close again this year with Red Spider, a 9/1 chance with Pagebet.
Santa Anita plays host to six Grade One races on Saturday, including the Breeders Cup Classic at 11:45pm, which sees Aidan O’Brian’s two charges Henrythenavigator and Duke of Marmalade take on reigning champion Curlin, who is the 2/1 favourite with VCbet to repeat his victory of last year. Johnny Murtagh has chosen to ride Duke of Marmalade, an 8/1 shot with Pagebet, rather than his stable mate, 2000 Guineas winner Henrythenavigator, available at 7/1 with BGbet. Frankie Dettori saddles Raven Pass, who beat Henrythenavigator less than a month ago at Ascot in the Queen Elizabeth II stakes, and is also 7/1 with Pagebet.
There is also the Breeder’s Cup Turf at 11:00pm, where St. Leger winner Conduit takes on Juddmonte winner Soldier of Fortune. Soldier of Fortune is the 4/1 favourite with Pagebet, while Conduit is 9/2 with VCbet in what promises to be a great race between two class horses.
If your horse gets beat by a Short Head or Nose in the Racing Post Trophy at 15.35 at Doncaster on Saturday, BGbet will refund your win stakes in the form of free bets.
If one of Aidan O’Brian’s horses wins a Breeders Cup race on Saturday, Pagebet will refund the stakes on any European losers in that particular race.
