Twenty seven runners are set to line-up for Saturday’s Ayr Gold Cup and defending champion Advanced still heads the betting at 9-1 with William Hill, along with the Karl Burke-trained Confuchias.

Kevin Ryan’s five-year-old has not won since taking the six-furlong event a year ago, but has acquitted himself admirably in his last two races’ running Look Busy to a length in his last start in Listed company.

William Hill have opened a book on which of the Big 4 will remain unbeaten for the longest period once the season starts and also have prices for all four to remain unbeaten for the entire season.
