DESPITE Team GB’s two Gold Medals at the Olympics so far, William Hill still expect F1 driver Lewis Hamilton to emerge as the winner of the BBC TV Sports Personality of the Year Award.

Heath Ledger is being heavily tipped to win a posthumous Oscar by bookmakers William Hill for his performance in The Dark Knight, and they have slashed their price on him winning from 12/1 to 3/1.

“Every year there is a buzz about a particular performance and we always gets calls but we have not seen this much early interest in the Oscars since Helen Mirren won with her flawless performance as the Queen,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Hills have also accepted bets on Meryl Streep to win an Oscar for her performance in Mamma Mia and she ia a 4/1 shot for victory.
