Bookmakers William Hill have lengthened the price of Gordon Brown leaving office by the end of the year as punters pile on him to hang on to his job at least until next year, with Hills now 6/5 that he will see the year out and 8/13 that he will not. The Prime Minister will also be pleased that there has been money for him to lead the Labour party into the next General Election which was almost unthinkable on Friday. Hills quote Gordon Brown at 5/6 to lead the party into the next General Election and 5/6 that he will not. (more…)

Labour Favourite to keep Glasgow seat

THE GLASGOW East by-election is shaping up to be the biggest betting by-election, with the odds suggesting that Labour are increasingly likely to hold this important seat. Hills currently make Labour 2/5 favourites to win the by-election, with bets of up to £2200 for them to win, while the SNP are now quoted at 7/4 with four £1000+ bets; the Conservatives are 33/1 and the Lib Dems 50/1.
