Odds on Ipswich being Promoted 2009/10 season

The big news today is that Roy Keanne has been installed as the new Ipswich manager. Signing a 2 year contract Keane to a press conference

“I would like to try and do it (win promotion) in one year, if I was not up for it I would be walking my dogs. I think my dogs needed a break.”

Keane has some pedigree here. In 2006 he took the struggling Sunderland from 2nd bottom of the Championship to the top, securing promotion and more importantly a second season in the Premiership.

Bookmaker William Hill have cut Ipswich from 5/1 to 10/3 to be promoted next season as a result of Keane’s arrival. ‘We put up 5/1 for Ipswich to be promoted initially but their fans have been enthused by the appointment and have already backed them heavily to go up’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

How Will Ipswich do next year?
9/1 win the Championship 2009/2010;
7/1 to be runners-up;
2/1 to finish 3rd to 6th;
11/4 7-12th;
5/2 13-21st;
25/1 relegated.

How long will Keane last?
5/1 to leave the job during 2009;
2/1 during 2010;
7/4 in 2011;
5/2 2012 or later.
