Odds on Federer Winning Wimbledon 2009

Following Roger Federer’s epic battle in the French Open, Bookmaker Paddy Power has shortened his odds to 5/4 favourite to win Wimbledon – the first time the legendary Swiss ace has been favourite to win Wimbledon since January.

Federer and Nadal had been installed as 13/8 joint favourites for Wimbledon after their final 12 months ago before Nadal became market leader when winning the Australian Open.

The new French Open champion cemented his place in history today by completing his collection of the four Grand Slams and equalling Sampras’ all time major record and the win saw Federer’s odds to win Wimbledon come in from 2/1 second favourite with Paddy Power prior to the Roland Garros tournament.

Nadal is second favourite to win Wimbledon at 7/2 with Andy Murray the same price. Federer’s opponent today Robin Soderling is 33/1 from 150/1 two weeks ago.
