It looks like Fergie has kept his man and bookies William Hill are for the first time odds on at 4/9 that he will remain a Manchester United player. Hill have also seen an unexplained run of bets on Alan Curbishley to be the next manager to lose his job and have cut him from 7/1 to 5/1 with bets of up to £500 accepted.

“It is good news for Sir Alex but Alan Curbishley might not be so lucky,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
