Gorden Brown Betting Odds
July 27, 2008 by Ben Filed under: Special Bets
Bookmakers William Hill have lengthened the price of Gordon Brown leaving office by the end of the year as punters pile on him to hang on to his job at least until next year, with Hills now 6/5 that he will see the year out and 8/13 that he will not. The Prime Minister will also be pleased that there has been money for him to lead the Labour party into the next General Election which was almost unthinkable on Friday. Hills quote Gordon Brown at 5/6 to lead the party into the next General Election and 5/6 that he will not.
“At last some of our markets are showing that Gordon Brown is not dead and buried but the Conservatives are still the red hot favourites to win the next election at 2/9 with a high possibility of a landslide,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
Despite publicly announcing his support for Gordon Brown, Jack Straw is the 4/1 favourite to replace him as the next Labour leader with David Milliband out from 2/1 to 9/2. All this is good news for the Conservative Party who are now 1/4 favourites to win the next Election, the shortest price since Tony Blair became Prime Minister in 1997. Hills are now 9/4 that the Conservative Party win 375 or more seats at the next General Election.
