FA Cup on UK TV Setanta
January 1, 2009 by Ben Filed under: Football
Setanta have some exclusive live FA Cup coverage. The FA Cup is the most famous domestic Cup competition in the World-and this season, up to 25 matches will be live on Setanta including the Final. Sky and ITV are also showing some games but for total coverage, a Setanta sport subscription is a must.
Tottenham v Wigan: January 2nd
The eight-time winners Tottenham, won’t have it their own way against a solid Wigan Athletic side, who have unearthed one of the finds of the season in Amir Zaki. Will it be Happy New Year for Harry? Probably not, honeymoon period over and Wigan are a decent side.
Southampton v Man Utd: January 4th
Live third round duel from St. Marys as Sir Alex Ferguson takes his Red Devils to the south coast to take on a Southampton side looking to cause an upset. The repeat of the 1976 final will guarantee a full house at St. Mary’s Stadium and Manchester United, eleven-time FA Cup winners, will have to be at their best to proceed to the Fourth Round. I can see an upset here. Man U can’t carry on winning games 1-0.
Blyth Spartans v Blackburn: January 5th
Finally, there’s the real chance of a giant-killing in the game that takes place on Monday. The clash from Croft Park as Sam Allardyce takes his Blackburn side to the North East to face Conference North side Blyth Spartans. Can’t see anything more than an away win here.
