Tom O’ Connor Favourite For Countdown Job! Made lot of money when Des got the job last time.
William Hill have opened their betting for who will replace Des O’Connor as the next host of Countdown and make Tom O’Connor their 8/1 favourite alongside long-term host Carol Vorderman. “We got stiffed last time when punters backed Des from 25/1 to 2/1 in the space of a few hours and can only hope that we have got it right this time,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams

They’ve missed out Greg Scott, who is 5/2 favourite with BetDirect and Stan James.
He was the warm-up act for the show for 13 years, and knew Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman well.

Agreed…Scott would make an excellent host. There’s some footage on youtube of him doing it already
