Chelsea vs Liverpool 4-4 odds at 100/1

Who would have thought that the Chelsea/ Liverpool game would have ended with the score 4-4. After the thrilling first leg, most pundits and tipsters were looking at a ‘low scoring’ more traditional encounter. A comedy of errors and some brilliance made this a Champions League classic though.
Bookmaker William Hill is celebrating more than the Chelsea fans are as this tops a great week for the bookies in general. Mon Mome won the Grand National at 100/1, Angel Cabrera beat Tiger Woods to win the US Masters golf major at 100/1, Chelsea and Liverpool played out a 4-4 draw – another 100/1 shot, leaving bookmakers William Hill declaring the results: ‘The greatest hat trick of major sporting upsets in a row that we can recall in the last thirty years’ according to Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
‘Very few people found Mon Mome in the National, even fewer were on Cabrera to beat Tiger in the golf – and virtually noone has backed the 4-4 draw’ said Sharpe, ‘We seem to be in bookie heaven at the moment with this unprecedented sequence of rank outsiders triumphing. Long may it continue!’
Barcelona are now 8/13 favourites with William Hill to beat Chelsea in their semi final, with the Londoners 6/5 to go through. Chelsea must be worth a shot after knocking out the in form Liverpool. The English Premiership is arguably a much stronger league than La Liga so even though Barcelona are cruising, Chelsea should not be underestimated.
