Champions League draw – New Odds
March 20, 2009 by Ben Filed under: Football
After the chmapions league draw today Manchester United have taken over Barcelona as favourites for this year’s Champions League.
Paddy Power responded to United’s pairing with Porto and a possible semi-final against Villarreal or Arsenal by cutting them from 13/5 second favourites to 2/1 market leaders.
Former favourites Barcelona have drifted to 11/4 from 5/2 with a possible semi-final against Liverpool or Chelsea a big hurdle for the Spanish champions to overcome.
Of the other English teams Chelsea are 13/2 (from 9/2), Liverpool 13/2 (from 6/1) and Arsenal remain at 15/2. And with Liverpool and Chelsea meeting each other for the fifth consecutive season in the Champions League Paddy Power can’t split the pair making them both 5/6 to reach the semi-finals.
