Odds on Benitez getting sacked 2009 – 2010 Season

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Irish Bookmaker, Paddypower have opened up a variety of markets on Rafa Benitez. They are responding to Liverpool’s worst run of form in 22 years with a wide variety of betting requests speculating on the manager’s failure. Benitez is 1.73 not to be manager at the end of the season.

Spread Betting On goals 3rd – 5th October

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Another 33 goals last weekend officially makes this top-flight campaign the highest scoring in over 40 years, with a total of 192 Premier League goals so far this season (excluding Monday night’s match) at an average of 2.95 goals a game. It is great news for both armchair fans and spread punters but an entertaining season for most of us usually means a disastrous season for the bookies. Estimates suggest that punters have scooped around £7million since the start of the new campaign. Buyers of Sporting Index’s goal spreads were in for another treat, particularly those wagering their hard-earned on Sunderland’s 5-2 win over Wolves, Liverpool’s destruction of Hull and Tottenham’s five-goal thrashing of Burnley. Buyers of Robbie Keane’s goal minutes spread would have been happy with four scores from Irishman at any point in the game, but three goals in the last 15 minutes and a final make-up of 256 was beyond their wildest dreams.
