England are playing Slovakia on Saturday in what some would say a meaningless friendly. Under Capello though, these are friendlies are anything but meaningless. All players know they will be fighting for their place in the World Cup Squad.

England look to put last month’s defeat against Spain behind them and restore a winning mentality against Slovakia. Manchester United Odds Drift for Premiership

After what was a crazy weekend in football, the odds on Manchester United winning the Premiership have drifted out. Just a couple of weeks ago it thought that Man U were going to win the title with games to spare. How the mighty have fallen.

Manchester United title winnings odds have lengthened from 1/25 before they lost to Liverpool, to 1/4 favourites by William Hill who make Liverpool 7/2 second favourites, with Chelsea at 12/1; Arsenal 150/1 and Villa 500/1.’United’s mini wobble is giving bookies hope of saving a £25m payout, which they face should United win the lot this season’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, as they eased their odds out to 5/1 to end the season with all the major trophies in their trophy cabinet. ‘Saturday’s results were the best of the year so far for us with United and Chelsea both failing to win’ added Sharpe.

Cheltenham Festival 2009 Betting Preview

The Cheltenham Festival is famous racing event in British Horse racing. The prize money is only seconf to the Grand National. It is an event where the best British and Irish trained horses race against each other which is rare in the rest of the racing calendar. This year, it takes part between Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th March 2009.

The big race of the opening day is the Smurfitt Kappa Champion Hurdle. Ireland have been cleaning up in this two miler over the last decade but Katchit lead home a British 1-2-3 last year though he’s an outside shot this time round for a repeat though Binocular should mark another one up for Britain. The JP McManus owned horse will be making a first run of the year and is expected to win impressively.
