20-1 A EURO HORSE CAPTURES THE RUN FOR THE ROSES

With the news that Kempton is to host a Kentucky Derby entry race, bookmakers William Hill make it 20-1 that a European runner steals the famous race for the very first time next year.

There is a strong English presence in this years UEFA Cup, with five Premiership teams all looking to become the first English side to win the trophy since Liverpool in 2001. Middlesbrough and Rangers have both come close in recent years, but both fell at the final hurdle after remarkable runs to the final. All of the Premiership teams will be confident of progressing to the group stages of the competition, especially Portsmouth, Everton and Tottenham, who all open their campaigns at home.
